The Minister of Culture Inaugurates The Activities of The "Eighth International Caricature Forum" And Appreciates The Forum's Celebration of The late Comedian Samir Ghanem
Dr. Ahmed Fouad Hano: Cooperation with the Egyptian Caricature Association to list, document and classify a group of caricature works to document the history of this art in Egypt.
Dr Ahmed Fouad Hano, Minister of Culture, inaugurated the activities of the "Eighth International Caricature Forum", for which Spain is the guest of honour. The forum is organized in cooperation between the Fine Arts Sector, headed by Dr. Walid Qanoush, and the Egyptian Caricature Association, headed by artist Mustafa Al-Sheikh, at Mahmoud Mokhtar Cultural Center in Al-Jazirah. Its activities will continue until 22 August.
Dr. Ahmed Fouad Hano, Minister of Culture, stressed the Ministry of Culture's support of the various fields of cultural and creative work, including the art of caricature, which is one of the effective means of expressing opinion. The Minister of Culture appreciated the efforts of those in charge of the forum and its constructive role in enriching cultural dialogue and exchanging experiences and creativity among artists from different countries.
The Minister of Culture explained that the coming period will witness a cooperation with the Egyptian Caricature Association, to list, document and classify a group of caricature works that document the history of caricature in Egypt, until the modern era and it introduces the most prominent caricature artists in Egypt.
The Minister of Culture also appreciated the forum's choice of the comedy legend, the late artist Samir Ghanem, to celebrate his great artistic value, as he is one of the prominent figures in the field of comedy on the Egyptian and Arab world.
The International Caricature Forum, in its eighth edition, celebrates the comedy legend, and artist Samir Ghanem, who entertained millions with his unique and distinctive style for more than half a century. He represented a school of art since his appearance with Al-Daif Ahmed and George Sidhom and the formation of their Troupe” Thoulathy Adwaa Al –Masrah”, where they became prominent figures in the history of comedy.
To commemorate the memory of Ghanem, the eighth edition of the International Caricature Forum will display more than 150 caricature portraits from all over the world. The caricatures also deal with some modern issues, such as the dangers of social media, climate change, and the Palestinian cause.

The forum also commemorates the famous Spanish comedian Jose Luis Vazquez, on the occasion of choosing Spain as the guest of honor for this Edition.
