Dr. Ahmed Fouad Hano, Minister of Culture, held a meeting with the heads of the General Organization of Cultural Palaces, attended by writer Mohamed Abdel Hafez Nasef, Vice President of the organization.
The meeting discussed the organization's preparations for the sectors of the Ministry of Culture to launch the national project for human development, "A New Beginning for Building Human Being", under the auspices of President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi, which aims to enhance investment in human being, targeting human development, and working to consolidate the Egyptian identity. It includes several initiatives in the fields of health, education, culture, sports, providing job opportunities, targeting the benefit of all citizens of different ages, and improving the quality of life for Egyptian citizens.
Dr Ahmed Fouad Hano stressed during the meeting the importance of employing all available capabilities to achieve the maximum benefit from cultural resources, which contributes to enhancing local culture, enriching the Egyptian cultural scene, as well as enhancing decentralization of the management of cultural activities, which gives the different regions more freedom in implementing cultural programs that suit the needs of each region, maintaining coordination and integration with the Ministry's vision.
The Minister of Culture pointed out the necessity of paving the way for partnerships with national institutions and entities interested in cultural affairs and human development, to present cultural events, as well as contribute to raising the efficiency of several cultural facilities.
The Minister of Culture stressed the necessity of setting a plan that ensures the sustainability of cultural activities and makes them more attractive to the public, in addition to raising the efficiency of workers through continuous training.
The meeting also discussed the most prominent obstacles facing cultural work in the regions, and the possible ways to overcome them.
The Minister stressed the importance of cooperation between all concerned parties to ensure overcoming these obstacles and implementing the investment vision in the best possible way.
The meeting was attended by: Ahmed Darwish - Head of the West and Central Delta Region -, Lamis El-Shernoby - Head of the Greater Cairo and North Upper Egypt Region -, Amr Farag - Head of the East Delta Region -, Diaa Makkawi - Head of the Central Upper Egypt Region -, Emad Fathy - Head of the South Upper Egypt Region; -, Dr. Shoaib Khalaf - Director General of the Canal and Sinai Region.
