The Urban Harmony Organization  Announces The architectural Competition Representing  Egypt In  Venice Biennale of Architecture 2020

  The Urban Harmony Organization  Announces The architectural Competition Representing  Egypt In  Venice Biennale of Architecture 2020  For the fourth consecutive years, The National Urban Harmony Organization,  headed by Eng. Mohamed Abu Saada, will launch the Open Architectural Competition to select the best ideas for projects that can be implemented to represent Egypt in the 17 th Venice International Biennale of Architecture. The competition will be from May 2020 to  the end of November 2020. It has been held in Venice, Italy, every two years since 1980. Abou Saada explained that, this edition  is dealing with designing and implementing an architectural project that fulfills the theme of the exhibition, which is "How will we live to gather?" The contestants  can find  the terms of the competition in its final form on the website of The National Urban Harmony Organization, this  has been announced in the national newspapers, the participant can see it and pay the participation fee  in the  organization's headquarters in Salah al-Din Castle, the deadline for delivery the projects is 1 st December  2019, The results of the competition will be announced on 19, 2019. Saada  explained that the winning project will represent Egypt in Venice International Biennial. The team leader of this project will be  the Commissar of the Egyptian pavilion, plus, the distinguished valuable projects will be awarded certificates of appreciation - based on the recommendation of the jury, and the Ministry of Culture will pay for the cost of travel to Venice and full accommodation for  maximum of three members of the winning project team including the Commissar. It is noteworthy that Egypt Pavilion in the previous Edition of   Venice International Biennial  was selected as one of the the top ten wings in the Biennale. Venice Architecture Biennale is one of the most prestigious exhibitions of international contemporary architecture exhibitions, with the participation of dozens of countries around the world and it receives more than half a million visitors. Egypt is one of the first countries that  participated in Venice Biennale of Arts in general and of architecture in particular.

The Opera House Commemorates The 38th Anniversary of The Departure of Al-Sonbati

“Nationalism”  on The Grand Theater on the anniversary of the departure of Al-Sonbati The Egyptian Opera House, headed by Dr. Magdy Saber, commemorates the 38th anniversary of the departure of the musician Riad El Sonbaty .The Opera will hold a  concert for  the Arab National Band for Music led by Maestro Dr. Mostafa Helmy at 8 pm on Friday 13 September at the Grand Theater. The program includes presenting  a selection of late compositions,  performed by  Ashraf Walid, Ahmed Essam, Mai Hassan, Ahmed Said, Reem Kamal, Amira Said and Mohamed Tarek. It is noteworthy that the musician Riyad Alsunbati was born on 30 November, 1906, he is one of the most prominent Arab musicians, distinguished by composing the poem in various templates, including operetta, dialog, monologue, poem and others . He Composed a number of exclusive music, collaborated with major singers:-  Oum Kalthoum, Mounira El Mahdia, Fathia Ahmed, Saleh Abdel Hay, Mohamed Abdel Motaleb, Abdel Ghani El Sayed, Asmahan, Hoda Sultan, Fayza Ahmed, Souad Mohamed, Warda, Mayada El Hennawi, Najat and others. He died  on 10 September  1981, leaving treasures Of eternal music.

The  Opera House Holds An artistic Celebration To Honor And  Lamenting Hassan Kami

Out of our appreciation for  the artist Almighty Hassan Kamy - one of the symbols and pioneers of creativity in the field of opera singing and drama,The Opera House,  headed by Dr. Magdy Saber, holds a concert at 8 pm on Thursday,  12 September  at the Grand Theater with the participation of  :- Dr. Inas Abdel Dayem (Flute), Ramzi Yassi (Piano), Dr. Hassan Sharara, performed by Cairo Opera Bands, Cairo Opera Ballet, Modern Theatrical Dance, Cairo Opera Choir, accompanied by Cairo Opera Orchestra led by Maestro, Magdy Baghdadi and Italian David Krishnzy and directed by Hisham Altay .

Book Organization  Publishes“  Cold War Conflicts In Africa”

The Egyptian General Book Organization, headed by Dr. Haytham El-Haj, recently published the book "Cold War Conflicts In Africa", written by Dr. Ali Metwally Ahmed and presented by AL- Sayed Fleifel, who chose Guinea Conakry as a model in 1958-1984. This is due to the fact that  Guinea is the first region in Africa to gain independence from Western colonialism without bloodshed. The book is divided into five chapters, preceded by an introduction to :- US policy towards the African continent in general after World War II, US attitude towards  Guinea's independence, US attitude towards  Guinea's political and economic relations with the Eastern Camp, US attitude towards  Guinea's military and cultural relations with the Eastern Camp. Finally, the author  writes a conclusion containing the results of the study.

Exhibition  “ For The Love of Egypt And Yemen” In  The Opera House

Dr. Magdy Saber, Head of the Opera House, inaugurated inaugurate an exhibition entitled " For The Love of Egypt And Yemen " by Mohamed Abdo Saba at 7:00 pm on Monday 9 September at Ziad Bakir Hall in the Music Library. The exhibition includes 40 paintings using oil paintings deal with enjoying the beautiful landscapes in Egypt and Yemen. It is worthy of note that Mohamed Saba is a researcher, he had  a master's degree in “ Heritage And Popular Culture“ from The Academy of Arts in Cairo. He has held many private exhibitions in Egypt and Yemen, participated in exhibitions abroad  and received many important artistic awards. The exhibition will run until Friday, 13 September.

"A popular History For  The world" .. The last work of the late Talaat Shayeb

The National Center for Translation published recently the Arabic version of the first and second parts of the book titled "A Popular History For The World “- made by mankind from the stone age to the new millennium"-  written by Chris Harman ,translated by  of the late Talaat Shayeb and introduced by Osama Ghazouli. It is worthy of note that Chris Harman is a journalist and political activist who has published a series of books including "How Marxism Works", "Gramsci Against Reformism" and "Crazy Economy: Capitalism And The Market Today." For the other hand, The late great translator Talaat al-Shayeb enriched the Arabic library with a collection of the most important books including "Clash of Civilizations “ by Samuel Huntington," Cultural Cold War: The Role of the CIA in the World of Arts and Literature "," American Orientalism: The United States and the Middle East since 1945 ", novel “ Follow Your Heart “ by Susana Tamaru's "and " The Remains of the Day" by  Kazu Ishiguro's ". The journalist and translator Osama al-Ghazouli, who wrote the book's introduction, translated  a number of books from Russian and English, including: "cultural bodies", "Crescent behind the clouds" and "dreams of globalization" – in which he  mentioned in the introduction that the late Talaat Shayeb has translated a large part of this book but he died before it was finished. He added "I had to continue and to stick to its course as much as I can”.

The Egyptian Ambassador  To Jakarta And The Governor of Jakarta Inaugurate The Egyptian Pavilion In The Indonesia International Book Fair

Ambassador Amr Moawad, Egypt's Ambassador to Jakarta, and Anis Baswedan, Governor of Jakarta, inaugurated the Egyptian pavilion in The Indonesia International Book Fair . Egypt  - represented by  The Egyptian General Book Organization headed by Dr. Haitham Al Haj Ali  -   is participating in this event . The ceremonies were attended by  Mohamed Al- Fiki , The Undersecretary of The Ministry of Marketing and Head of Marketing Sector. The Fair will last till 8 September. The governor of Jakarta was keen to visit the Egyptian pavilion and expressed his admiration of  the variety of publications and papyrus in the pavilion. The Egyptian Book Organization dedicated  The Egyptian Ambassador the commemorative medal of the Organization for the pivot  great role played by the Egyptian Embassy in Indonesia. For his part, the Egyptian ambassador praised the efforts exerted by the Ministry of Culture and the Book  Organization  to draw a good suitable image of Egypt in the  international forums . It is worthy of note that The Egyptian pavilion includes a large number of the latest publications, especially heritage books, children books and folk and religious studies.

Due to the high  Demand: Cultural development Sector extends the period of participating in “ Snayeat Misr- Egypt Artisans” Initiative

  Due to the popularity of the initiative " Egypt Artisans" -for artisanal training- launched mid last month under the auspices of President Abdel Fattah El Sisi as a campaign to protect and revive the heritage  crafts - it was decided to extend the period of subscription to the initiative until 29 August, to give the opportunity to the largest number to benefit from the initiative  Implemented by the Cultural Development Fund Sector at Fustat Center for Traditional Crafts.  It is worth mentioning that the initiative aims to restore the heritage and traditional crafts to put them on spotlight and to rehabilitate a new generation of creators from the age of 18 to 40 years and train them on heritage  and traditional crafts in the fields of  :-  copper works - shell - crust - Khyameya - porcelain - heritage ornaments. Egypt Participates In A Conference Of Safeguarding Heritage Cities In Russia

  -Urban Harmony Organization represents Egypt in  the conference on Safeguarding Heritage Cities in Ryazan, In Russia. Within the framework of the strategy of the Ministry of Culture to participate in all international cultural and artistic activities, The National Urban Harmony Organization headed by Eng. Mohamed Abou Seada - representing Egypt, participates in the Second International Conference for safeguarding  the  Historic Cities in Rizan, Russia, this conference includes the countries that have  cities established more than 500 years ago. In a speech delivered by Abu Saada, he presented the history of of the historic city of Cairo, which celebrates 1050 years since its establishment. He pointed out that it is characterized by containing the architecture treasures of many ages, which led to the formation and accumulation of a unique ,architectural and humanitarian heritage reflected in the form of mosques and churches, representing accumulation of civilizations. He added that Cairo Khedive built in the era of Khedive Ismail with:- a variety of European architecture  schools, Heliopolis area which was built by Baron Empan . He also  stressed that Egypt and its political leadership are eager to preserve and reformulate its heritage and its aspects. This was supervised by a committees on a high level to revive  this heritage to show  the greatness richness and  diversity of the history of Egypt. Abou Seada also explained the role of the organization  in preserving the Egyptian architectural heritage and in working of redefine the beauty in the public squares  of the Egyptian cities, adding that Egypt is currently - after the decision of the President Abdel Fattah El Sisi, evacuating the  governmental buildings in the center of the capital, to be transferred to  administrative  districts to  give  the tourists the opportunity to enjoy the beauty of Cairo and to provide them with all the logistical services they  need. He stressed on Egypt belief in the value of heritage and its importance and on  the international community's solidarity to preserve the heritage cities and treasures. He also welcomed the cooperation and exchange of experiences in this field with various countries, and he described the conference as  a new starting point in order to preserve and protect the heritage of humanity.

Next Sunday, Sirat Al- Hop On Al- Balloon Theater Within The Activities of The National Theater Festival .

  The musical play " Sirat Al- Hop " will be presented at the 12th National Festival of the Egyptian Theater on Sunday and Monday, 25 and 26 August, it is free of charge at 6 pm. The play is produced by the Artistic  House of Folklore and Performing Arts, headed by Khaled Galal. The play is starring Ehab Fahmi, Rehab Motawa, Magdy Sobhy, Ahmed El Demerdash, Chikwa, Rasha Sami El Adl, Nasser Abdel Hafiz, Nahla Khalil, Sherif Awad, Emad Abdel Magid, Hani Abdel Hadi, Ahmed El Sherif, Singer Malek, Heba Mohamed, Amr Aslan, Sayed Abd El Rahman, Sana Yousry, Mohamed El Gharbawy -Decor, Lighting Sherif El Borai, Islam Afifi - Make Up, Mohamed Abou El Yazid -Music Distribution. The Egyptian General Organization of Book headed by Dr. Haitham El-Haj  recently issued the book " Pioneers And Writers  " by Dr. Mahmoud Mohamed Khalaf. It is worthy of note that This book was originally a collection of  many articles which were published on The Egyptian and Arabic newspapers and magazines. The authors of these articles are  a group of scientists - few famous and many of them are not .These articles were collected  by the writer  to  tell about  their news and to learn from their struggle and to know about their  productions. The book is divided into two sections, the first is devoted to talking about ancient scholars and the second about modern writers and poets from the nineteenth and twentieth centuries-  AD , thirteenth and fourteenth century- AH.
